About Mains examination 2025
After Prelims examination, the candidates who qualify the Prelims examination, they have to appear for Mains examination that is the 2nd stage of UPSC Examination. This is the written examination in UPSC CSE. This stage consists of total 9 papers out of which marks of 7 papers are counted for final merit, rest two papers are the language papers which is of qualifying type in nature.
